I am the Manager of Exports, Sales & Marketing; Principal blender as well as the in-house mixologist for Agave India. I joined Agave India as a fresher right after graduating from IHM, Goa, in 2011. Over the past 13 years of working in the alcoholic beverage industry I have added many roles to my profile at Agave India.

I have been part of Agave India’s journey building the internationally recognised category of Indian Agave spirits and part of the Mahua project from the get go. We at Agave India are the only distillers of Agave spirits in Asia and have been at the vanguard of the movement to get Mahua out of the shadows of suppression and back into the limelight, with the vision of Mahua becoming a recognisable national heritage spirit of India hopefully with the crowning glory of a GI.

Since 2018, as part of my role at Agave India, I have been an ambassador for Mahua. I have created DesmondJi Mahua based cocktails at 100s of events and spoken about Mahua at various physical and virtual platforms. I am an ardent believer that Mahua can be to India what Tequila is to Mexico, provided sources of livelihood to 10s of thousands of tribal people in particular and fostering pride as well as promoting tourism and contributing significantly to the revenues of multiple states in the country.
