Khalil Bachooali along with Devika Bhagat founded Adventurist Spirits Distillery - an independently owned craft spirits distillery and their first spirit offering is Tamras Indian Dry Gin.

Founded on the principle of being able to control every single step of the distilling and manufacturing process, in order to create the finest quality spirits in the world, right here in India.

In 6 months since it’s launch Tamras Indian Dry Gin has won the Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in April 2022 and another Gold Medal at the Singapore World Spirits Competition in June 2022. 

Born in Mumbai, raised in the Middle East, graduated in India and Europe, worked in Doha, Singapore, Rotterdam, Prague and Mumbai, Khalil brings international experience and global exposure to the table in everything he does.

With a background in marketing & advertising and a brief stint with the European head-quarters of Johnson & Johnson, Prague, Czech Republic, Khalil ventured into the world of advertising and film-production in India where he has produced over 1,500 commercials in just over a decade. In the middle of his advertising-run, he also co-produced a feature film shot entirely in the UK and released in over 60 countries around the world.

While not distilling in Goa or visiting bars across India he is producing a long-format series for a global platform.   

Khalil started his own film production company, Offroad Films, in 2011 and has since won numerous international awards at AdFest, Spikes Asia and most recently Cannes Lions in 2019 and 2022.
