Steve is founder and Proprietor of Spiritech Solutions Inc., a technical services consultancy and creator of new distilled spirits beverages. Established in Canada in 2006, Spiritech Solutions specializes in distillery process development and troubleshooting, spirits sensory training, distilled spirits beverage creation, and teaching in distillery operations. Steve is also a co-founder of the Canadian whisky brand Kavi Reserve.

Additionally, Steve is a team member of US-based consultants Thoroughbred Spirits Group, where he serves a role as ‘Distiller’ and provides consulting services on various technical and operational aspects of the distilling business. He is a regular instructor at The Alcohol School, a past presenter at the Siebel Institute, a member of the examination board of the Institute of Brewing & Distilling, and author of various distilling and beverage publications.

Steve has been active in the distilling business since 1980, after receiving B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Microbiology from the University of Guelph.  Before establishing his own company, Steve spent 26 years in various technical and management roles at Canadian and international distillers including McGuinness Distillers, Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd., and Allied Domecq PLC.
